As we approach the end of another year, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible impact we've achieved together in 2023. Your support and dedication to our mission have made a real difference in the lives of countless individuals and families in our community.
Year in Review
This year has been filled with remarkable achievements, and we are proud to share some highlights:
Scholarship Success: Our scholarship program awarded over $485,233 to deserving students pursuing higher education. These scholarships are not just financial support but also a testament to the incredible talent and potential in our community.
Grantmaking: Through the generosity of our donors, we provided vital funding to numerous local nonprofits addressing critical issues, from education and healthcare to poverty alleviation and the environment. In total, we distributed $356,732 in grants to support our community.
Community Engagement: We hosted and supported various community events and workshops to foster a sense of togetherness and provide valuable resources for our residents. Ask us about our “Show Me the Money Day” held in the Spring! Your involvement in these events is a testament to your commitment to strengthening our communities.
Legacy Building: Many individuals and families have partnered with us to create lasting legacies through endowments and planned giving. These gifts will continue to make a positive impact for generations to come.

As we enter the holiday season, there are some exciting events and opportunities on the horizon:
Year-End Giving: Consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Community Foundation before December 31st to support our ongoing work in 2024. Your contribution can help us continue to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors. Donate Now.
2024 Scholarship Applications Opens in January: The application period for our scholarships will open on January 15th! Encourage deserving students in our community to apply and take the first step toward achieving their dreams.
Scholarship Selection Committees: We invite community members to participate in our scholarship selection committees. Your expertise and insights will help us identify the most deserving candidates for our scholarships. If you're interested, please reach out to us.
Community Grant Cycle: February 1st marks the deadline for our upcoming grant cycle. Contact us today to learn about our grantmaking process and how you can make a difference in your community.
Y.A.C Mini-Grants: In November, the Youth Advisory Council (Y.A.C) granted $2,084 to support seven student projects at schools in our community. We have 17 members on our council and are looking for new members from Edwardsburg, Cassopolis, and Marcellus. Learn more about Y.A.C on our website!
